What is next on the Republican agenda– Chelseagate? Socksgate?
We’ve had Whitewatergate, Travelgate, Paula Jones-gate and now Filegate, which are only media-driven diversions, while the real issues such as welfare reform, better schools, health care, Medicare and the minimum wage are being overlooked by Republicans.
Republicans have to focus on all the “gates” because the misery index, employment and the economy have shown significant improvement under President Bill Clinton, and that leaves the majority party searching for scandal over substance.
