The Romeoville Village Board trustees, meeting Wednesday night as the committee of the whole, agreed to suggest a few changes for a school planned for the Lakewood Falls subdivision at Weber Road and 111th Street.

The planned school is outside village limits, but the Plainfield Unit School District 202 has sent plans to the Village Board as a courtesy, said Romeoville Planning and Zoning Director Greg Anderson.

The elementary school is needed because of increased growth in the area. The subdivision developer had dedicated land for the school.

According to Anderson, there were only a few suggestions surrounding the water system and parking-lot striping.

The board also reviewed a special-use permit request before the Will County Planning Board to allow development of a Phillips 66 gas station at Renwick and Weber Roads. This was also done as a courtesy, Anderson said.
