Police were investigating the deaths of a woman and a child whose badly decomposed bodies were found Thursday evening in a Near North Side apartment building.
Detectives on the scene would not discuss a possible cause of death or the identities of the victims. The bodies were discovered in a first-floor apartment in the 1400 block of North Dearborn Street after a resident of the building called police to complain about a suspicious odor.
