Micron gets big FAA contract: A high-tech security system that would automatically detect unaccompanied baggage on an airliner will be developed by Micron Communications Inc. for the Federal Aviation Administration, the computer chip company said. The announcement came just over two weeks after TWA Flight 800 crashed off Long Island on July 17, killing all 230 people aboard. But a Micron spokeswoman said the Boise-based company had been working with the FAA for some time on the agreement to develop the device and said the timing of the announcement was probably coincidental.
