A suburban school district that already has a strict policy on weapons and gangs is considering using random drug and alcohol testing to fight teen substance abuse.
High school and middle school students have sent letters to the Franklin School Board asking it to toughen its drug and alcohol policies, Superintendent Gerald Freitag said Thursday.
In response, the School Board agreed to consider a revised policy. The Board hopes to initiate any changes by the 1997-98 school year.
