Plans for a 45-acre residential development at Illinois Highway 59 and 135th Street were approved in a 4-1 vote by Plainfield village trustees Monday night.
The first phase of the Eagle Chase project, being developed by B&C Partners, is expected to include 78 single-family homes and 23 duplexes, according to village officials. The developers plan later to subdivide an additional 33 acres that would include 39 single-family homes and 96 town homes.
The project would include a bicycle trail to be maintained by the park district. Under the original annexation agreement with the village, the developers had included plans for a 5-foot concrete walkway, but they agreed to consider the park district’s request to develop the bike trail.
The plans approved Monday without discussion also call for $1.8 million in public renovations, including storm-sewer and road work to 135th Street, and cash donations to the park and school districts.
