A memorial service for Joy Darrow, 62, a Chicago journalist, gallery owner and photographer, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Prairie Avenue Gallery, 1900 S. Prairie Ave. Ms. Darrow, who worked in recent years on housing and human rights issues, died July 26 in Michael Reese Hospital Medical Center. She had been a Tribune reporter in the 1960s and the managing editor of the Chicago Defender in the late 1970s. She was the grandniece of the prominent defense attorney Clarence Darrow. Survivors include her husband, Tribune food writer Steven Pratt; a son, Clark Baim; two daughters, Tracy Baim and Marcy Baim; and a brother.
