Suffering from a downturn in attendance and betting volume, officials from Arlington International Racecourse will ask the state next week to shorten the racing schedule to five days each week from six for the rest of the season, officials said Friday.
The request is on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Illinois Racing Board in Springfield.
