So Bob Dole proposes a 15 percent tax cut. Big deal. It’s peanuts compared to the proposal of Libertarian presidential candidate Harry Browne–a 100 percent tax cut. That’s right. No more income tax, no more IRS.
And Browne’s plan is a lot less iffy: Browne isn’t trying to have it both ways by preserving all the programs whose funding makes income tax necessary. He’ll reduce government to its constitutional limits. If the government were one-tenth the size it is today, we wouldn’t need an income tax.
