President Clinton, who turns 50 on Aug. 19, has been asked by job-placement specialists Challenger, Gray & Christmas to take part in an all-day call-in aimed at workers over 50 who need help finding jobs.

“We figure he’ll be looking for work himself, either in January or in four years,” says a spokesman, who failed to note that rival Bob Dole is 73 and has no job at all.

Anyone needing advice should phone (312) 332-5790 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (CDT) on Aug. 19.

Callers will learn that it’s a myth that no one hires older people. The average job search for execs over 50 takes only a month longer than for younger workers.

It’s just that time is what they have less of.
