In the last few months, I’ve been registering voters at summer events. Strangely, when I ask for ID, a lot of people show me shiny new driver’s licenses.
So what happened to Motor Voter? Isn’t Secretary of State George Ryan supposed to be registering these people when they get their licenses?
Most of them said they weren’t even asked to register to vote at the driver’s license office. When I suggest they might have been asked to register for federal elections, they insist that they were not asked at all. The law says they must be asked to register. Why isn’t George Ryan obeying the law?
