State Sen. Henry Stallings was charged Tuesday with felonies stemming from allegations that he used campaign funds to pay rent on his apartment and that he pocketed sales and other taxes collected at his business.
The freshman senator surrendered voluntarily at a state police post in Detroit, officials said, and was arraigned in 36th District Court. Judge Joseph Baltimore released him on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
