Charles Madigan’s article headlined “Ending compassion as we know it” (Perspective, Aug. 11) was magnificent. In my 50 years of reading the Tribune, I think I have never read anything its equal.
Perhaps it will shake us up and lift us out of our own little self-concerned worlds.
