Two foundations have teamed up to offer grants averaging $500 to Naperville and Aurora area flood victims.

The Alfred Bersted and Grace Bersted Foundations of Chicago last week awarded a total of $100,000 to the Aurora Foundation to establish the Fox Valley Area Flood Relief Fund. The Bersted grant will be used to match, dollar for dollar, donations from individuals, businesses, corporations and other organizations.

The grants are to be used to cover flood-related relief costs not covered by insurance or other relief programs, including repair or replacement of medical supplies, home appliances, furniture, baby equipment and homes.

Anyone who wishes to contribute matching funds may make out checks to the Aurora Foundation with a notation for placement in the Fox Valley Area Flood Relief Fund. Checks may be sent to 111 W. Downer Pl., Suite 312, Aurora, Ill. 60506. Call 630-896-7800.
