“HBO Comedy Half Hour: Wendy Liebman”: Certainly pay attention to this fine standup comedian when she tells her witty material, but if you think about it, check out her shoes: “I had bought this pair of shoes to wear,” Liebman told us, “and I got to San Francisco (where the series was taped) . . . and they were both the right feet,” which the Los Angeles shoe store mistakenly gave her. “I forget what they call that, they have a term for that.” (How about incompetence?) The 35-year-old said the shoes were bought specifically for this, her first solo special, which is airing at 11 p.m., “so I had to find a place that would send the correct pair to me.” The store zipped Liebman another pair, but this time, she got shoes that were a size too large. “This is a big night in my life,” she remembered, “and I’m not wearing a new pair of clunky shoes.” So when you watch Liebman do her jokes (which you have to pay attention to, because a lot of them have an additional punchline that she tags onto the main punchline), you’ll see her with the same shoes she wore on David Letterman’s show, a previous comedy special, “and on the plane going to San Francisco.”
