In an Aug. 20 story about the cause of death of Margaux Hemingway, the Associated Press erroneously reported that the drug Klonopin is a barbiturate. In fact, Klonopin, one of the drugs found in her apartment, is an anticonvulsant used in the treatment of epileptic seizures. The Los Angeles County coroner has concluded Hemingway committed suicide by taking an overdose of the barbiturate phenobarbital.
