Jeremy Stanton is back.

Brad Rupsis, Jakub Lisek and Chris Dodsworth aren’t.

Stanton, a 6-foot-1-inch senior midfielder at Normal University High, will continue to terrorize Downstate goalies after scoring 49 goals last fall.

But three Chicago-area standouts won’t be part of the soccer scene.

Rupsis, a star at Hinsdale South as a freshman and sophomore, has left the school, according to Hornets coach Larry Foss.

Lisek, who would have been a senior at Leyden, has opted to play professionally in Germany.

And Dodsworth, who attended Brother Rice the last two years, was declared ineligible by the Illinois High School Association after transferring back to Naperville Central.

Students can generally transfer from private to public schools and not lose eligibility.

But in Dodsworth’s case, because he attended Central as a freshman, going back caused the loss of his eligibility.
