Birthday: Nov. 3, 1953.
Occupation: Comedian, actor.
Current home: Santa Barbara.
Marital status: Married to Ali Espley for 7 years.
Children: Two sons, Marlon, 2 and Holden, 6.
Car: A white Lexus.
Working on: I’ve got a movie, “Bordello of Blood,” that just came out; my TV show, “Dennis Miller Live,” goes into production for its fourth season in January; and my book, “The Rants” (Doubleday), is out.
Favorite pigout food: Veal Parmesan at the Palm.
Favorite performer: Marlon Brando in “A Streetcar Named Desire.”
The last good movie I saw: “Courage Under Fire.”
Personal heroes: In my adult life I haven’t met many people who have bowled me over. But I met Dr. (H.J.) Heimlich. He had done something of substance that saves lives every day and he was pretty selfless about it.
My fantasy is: What I do on a day-to-day basis. I wanted a nice place to live, sons and a wife and I have them.
I’m better than anyone else when it comes to: Nothing.
The one thing I can’t stand: Man’s intolerance to other ways of approaching life.
If I could change one thing about myself: I’m pretty happy right now.
The worst advice my parents ever gave me: I didn’t know my father that well and my mother was a pretty solid human.
People who knew me in high school thought I was: More reserved than I am.
If I wasn’t an actor, I’d be: A shrink or a shut-in.
If I’ve learned one thing in life it’s: There’s no learning anything about life.
Most humbling experience: I tanked in front of Paul Newman at a Chevy Chase roast. He averted my gaze because he saw the pain I was in, “dying” (in my comedy act) in front of 3,000 people. It stills hurts, because I dig Newman.
Three words that best describe me: Dennis Michael Miller.
