Kudos to Mayor Daley for the recent beautification of West Madison Street. As a runner who frequents the downtown-to-United Center circuit as part of his daily workout, the new landscaping and wrought-iron fences that I pass are a welcome sight from the eyesores of a year ago. Thanks for finally enforcing zoning regulations that have been overlooked for a long time. I’ll be willing to bet that those businesspeople who felt “forced” into complying with the regulations will see an upsurge in profits resulting from the face lift!
