Birthday: March 30, 1971.
Birthplace: Zaragoza, Spain.
Occupation: Actor.
Current home: New York.
Marital status: Married to Kelly since May.
Car: I don’t have a car. I take taxis.
Working on: I play Mateo Santos on “All My Children.” I made a comedy for PBS called “English as a Second Language.” And I’m on the cover of two Topaz historical romances, “Halfway Home” and “The Heir.”
Favorite childhood memory: Going to baseball games with my father.
Personal hero: Ozzie Smith, the St. Louis Cardinals’ shortstop. I always wanted to be a shortstop and he’s legendary.
My fantasy is: I’m flying; I’m soaring over the ocean.
I’ve never been able to: Get over the fact that I’m not 6 feet.
I’m better than anyone else when it comes to: Getting my way.
The one thing I can’t stand: When my pasta isn’t al dente.
If I could change one thing about myself: I’d be more patient.
I’d give anything to meet: Pancho Villa.
My most irrational act: Moving to New York at 23 with $1,200 to try to make it as an actor. A week later I landed my job on “All My Children.”
The best time in my life: Honeymooning in Italy. I go to Italy every year. I lived there as a child and it recharges my battery to get out of the rat race and learn how to live again.
If I wasn’t an actor, I’d be: A professional soccer or baseball player. Every actor wants to be an athlete and every athlete wants to be an actor or a rock star.
Major accomplishment: My successful relationship with my wife.
Most humbling experience: I had to screen test three times for my part on “All My Children.” Two of them were after I already had the role and was on TV. They were going to expand the part and they didn’t know if I could handle it.
Three words that best describe me: Persistent, persistent, persistent.
