Bob Dole declined an invitation to speak to the NAACP, and all hell broke loose. Every leftist commentator rolled his or her eyes knowingly and clucked with an air of superiority, as if to say: “Well, we told you so. This is the real Bob Dole.”
Bill Clinton has now declined a similar invitation from the Christian Coalition. Any eye-rolling, any clucking? No–nary a roll, nary a cluck. A typical leftist media double standard? You can bet the plantation (sorry, I should have said “ranch”) on it.
