On Sept 21, you state in an editorial titled “It’s time to benefit the kids” that it is “of necessity . . . to help (parents) raise their children” and that “the time is right to offer each of these kids a fair chance at a productive life.” You go on to say that that chance is “the most important benefit there is.”
Of course, in the editorial right below–the one about the approval of the abortion pill RU-486–you laud the pill for its ability to provide a less “invasive means of (women) exercising their legal right to abortion.” Your front page the same day seemed to boast that 50,000-plus abortions a year is a reason to be thrilled! It seems to me that there were some 50,000 kids without a fair chance at a productive life. No wonder our society is so screwed up!
