Patrons of the Chicago public schools can attend the first Parent Involvement Summit co-sponsored by the Mattel Foundation and designed to increase parental involvement in education.

Seminars will be held on gang awareness, anger management, parenting skills, successful parent-teacher conferences and solutions to barriers to involvement in schools.

Presenters include representatives of the Chicago schools’ central office, Chicago Teachers Union’s Quest Center, Chicago Region PTA, Illinois PTA, Brass Foundation and the Tribune Foundation.

8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Dunbar High School, 3000 S. King Drive.
