Fun-loving, adventurous Theodore Roosevelt, our 26th president, led a “me first” kind of life. We’re not saying he was selfish–what we mean is, he had some cool presidential firsts. He was the first to ride in a car, to ride in a submarine and to fly in a plane. He was also the first to win a Nobel Peace Prize.

He also began the construction of the Panama Canal (he’s totally digging it above).
