Hubert Lichter, 82, of Palos Heights, a former newspaper distributor for the Chicago Tribune and other publications, died of Parkinson’s disease Saturday in the Brentwood North Nursing Home in Riverwoods. Mr. Lichter, a Chicago native, began his newspaper career in the early 1940s. In addition to the Tribune, he also worked as a distributor for the Chicago Sun-Times. He was the owner of the Southtown News Agency and the Chelteham & Lansing News Agency. A life member of the Newspaper Distributors Association, he retired in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Mina; two daughters, Laurice Kopp and Cheryl Stanciu; a son, Jeffrey; two sisters; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, with services following at noon in All Saints Lutheran Church, 13350 S. La Grange Rd., Orland Park.
