George L. Johnson, 48, of Burr Ridge, who served on the board of trustees at Columbia College in Chicago, died at his home Oct. 4. In 1987, Mr. Johnson founded Quality Croutons Inc., Chicago, a key supplier to McDonald’s Corp. Mr. Johnson also was a former chairman of the Black Economic Network in Chicago. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Patricia C. Harper; a son, Sean Christopher; and a brother. Services were held Wednesday in North Carolina.
