As the front-page article by Bonnie DeSimone (“Ill manners in sports nothing new,” Oct. 2) continued on the back page, I noticed that the picture with Baltimore Orioles second baseman Roberto Alomar was subtitled “Water over the bridge.” Was this intentional? Water normally flows under a bridge but can flow over a dam. Did you mean either of these? Or was this a tongue-in-cheek response to expectorating over the teeth?
