A man who said he was wracked by a guilty conscience walked into Belmont Area police headquarters and confessed to robbing a bank three days earlier, authorities said Wednesday.
According to prosecutors, Joseph Earl Cook, 23, a transient from the Joliet area, admitted to taking $1,460 from the Bank of Chicago Lakeshore, 1050 W. Wilson Ave., on Saturday.
