An Oct. 31 item in the Metro section stated that Gurnee Mills will not decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving Day.
I applaud the management of Gurnee Mills for its stand and only wish that other malls and stores would follow its example.
Thanksgiving is a beautiful American holiday whose meaning and purpose are rapidly getting lost in the pre-Christmas rush.
Please, folks, let’s celebrate each holiday in its own right.
