Testimony resumes this week in a hearing to determine whether David Youngerman should be released from the Elgin Mental Health Center.
Youngerman, who was acquitted by reason of insanity in 1994 of the near-fatal attack on his father in 1985 in Evanston, is seeking release, contending that he is sane and no longer a danger to others.
