The Lake in the Hills Village Board has set a date of Dec. 12 for a public hearing required by the Truth in Taxation law.
Due to new growth and development in the village, taxpayers will see a decrease in taxes paid for village services. Assessed property valuations are up $56 million dollars.
That translates to a decrease in the millage levied for village services from .8020 to .7960. Village president Joe Murawski said residents may not see a decrease in their tax bill due to increases in other services, such as roads and schools.
The hearing is set for 7:30 p.m. at Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 1115 Crystal Lake Rd.
