Marisol Reynolds, wife of former U.S. Rep. Mel Reynolds, will be arraigned this week on charges of lying to obtain a mortgage to buy the couple’s former Dolton home, misusing campaign funds and making false statements to federal election officials.

Reynolds pleaded innocent Thursday to federal bank and campaign-finance fraud charges. His wife, said to be penniless, is to travel to Chicago from the Boston area at government expense.

Reynolds has been in prison on a sex-assault conviction.
