A $27.7 million tax levy for 1996, up 3.5 percent over the prior year’s amount, has been approved tentatively by the Elementary School District 62 board.
The anticipated $2.39 tax rate is expected to result in $38 more in taxes next year, or a total of $1,114 paid to District 62 by the owner of a $150,000 home.
The levy proposal is set for adoption Dec. 16.
