First National Bank of Chicago will open a Beijing branch Monday to serve American businesses in Asia. First Chicago will be the second U.S. bank to open a branch in Beijing; Citicorp also operates one there. The Bank of Montreal, parent of Harris Bank, says it will open an office there in the spring.
