Packers cornerback Tyrone Williams won’t have to begin a six-month jail term Dec. 3 in connection with a 1994 shooting incident in Lincoln, Neb.

District Judge Bernard McGinn, who sentenced Williams, said he could remain free on $5,000 bond until the state Court of Appeals reviews the case. Williams pleaded no contest and was convicted on a felony charge of unlawfully discharging a gun and misdemeanor assault.
