The Village Board Finance Committee recommended Thursday release of $852,000 in developer fees to School District 300.
The money comes from developers who pay a certain sum for every lot they develop.
Algonquin has six schools in District 300, including Jacobs High School, Algonquin Middle School and Neubert Elementary.
Jacobs wants to build a new athletic field and a parking lot and to construct some new restrooms. Algonquin Middle School expects to add air conditioning and renovate its gymnasium floor. And Neubert plans to use the funds for a new roof. The board is expected to vote on releasing the funds Dec. 17.
