Florists Transworld Delivery Inc. said it is firing half its staff and closing two of its three U.S. branches in a sweeping bid to cut costs. The company, a network linking more than 22,000 retail florists in North America, said the tasks performed by the 205 employees at its Southfield, Mich., and Boston branches will be taken over by its Downers Grove employees.
