The Village Board has approved the final engineering and plat for the Lakewood Streams subdivision, a 49-acre development on the northeast corner of Lake Street and Park Boulevard.

Lakewood Homes of Hoffman Estates is building 134 single-family homes on 37 acres of the land with the remaining area to have future industrial use and two detention ponds.

The 1,042- to 2,219-square-foot homes are expected to cost an average of $153,000, said John Peterson, director of community development.

The board also considered approval to drop the number of Class A liquor licenses to 9 from its current 12 licenses.

The staff recommended the change because of the recent closings of three restaurants and bars. They proposed that the number of liquor licenses equal the number issued.

The board will vote on the proposal on Jan. 23.
