Dr. Jack M. Everett, 89, a retired dentist, died Monday in Rush North Shore Hospital in Skokie. Dr. Everett maintained a private practice in Chicago for 52 years and volunteered his time to provide dental care for Jewish orphans at the Marx Nathan Home during the Depression. Dr. Everett also pioneered the design of mouth shields and appliances to protect patients from X-rays and worked with researchers to develop treatment for mouth cancer. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Howard and Joyce Lopas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Piser Weinstein Menorah Chapels, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd, Skokie.
