Grinnell guard Jeff Clement broke the NCAA’s all-division record with 16 three-pointers in just 19 minutes Saturday.
The 5-foot-10-inch sophomore finished with 50 points in Grinnell’s 151-112 victory over Monmouth. He was 16 of 26 from beyond the three-point line.
The previous Division III record of 14 was shared by two former Grinnell players, Steve Diekmann (1994) and Ed Brands (1996). Marshall’s Keith Veney holds the Division I record of 15, set in 1996. Andy Schmidtmann of Wisconsin-Parkside holds the Division II record of 14 in 1989.
