Reader Tom KcKenna makes several Super Bowl comments in his Feb. 4 letter. Among them he suggests that Rev. Reggie White of the Green Bay Packers may have uttered the f-word “three or four times in the prekickoff huddle.”
While that word may have been spoken (the audio was somewhat muffled, and it’s hard to be certain), I also abhor its usage. Mr. McKenna, however, should be sure of his facts. The person who is speaking during that huddle was not Reggie White but another player.
As a Green Bay fan, I am ashamed that the word was even uttered by a team member, but Mr McKenna unfairly and inaccurately cast a pall on Rev. White’s reputation.
