Wednesday is a state holiday in observance of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. The following public services are affected:
– Schools: Chicago Public Schools and libraries will be closed. Many schools in the suburbs also will be closed.
– Government offices: Federal offices will remain open, but all state, county and city government offices, with the exception of emergency services, will be closed.
– Postal service: There will be mail delivery.
– Courts: The offices of Cook County Circuit Court, the offices of the clerk of the Circuit Court and the criminal courts will be closed with the exception of Holiday Bond Court.
– Financial markets: Markets will be open, including the the Chicago Board of Trade.
– Parking: Chicago meters must be fed.
