U.S. Can Corp. reported a fourth-quarter loss of $2.24 million, or 17 cents per share, narrowing from a loss of $3.86 million, or 30 cents per share, in the year-earlier quarter.
The Oak Brook-based manufacturer of metal containers said revenues for the quarter jumped 47 percent, to $223.1 million from $152.1 million.
For the year, net income tripled to $11.7 million, or 90 cents a share, from $3.9 million, or 31 cents a share, in 1995. Revenues climbed 22 percent, to $761.4 million from $626.5 million.
