The Feb. 16 front-page headline “Clinton defies pilots” is yet another of the Tribune’s crass attempts to impugn President Clinton’s leadership and to incite and exacerbate anti-Clinton sentiments.
Clinton didn’t “defy” the pilots; he asked the company and the pilots to cool it for 60 days and see if they couldn’t resolve their differences. That is a reasonable action of a courageous leader.
Clinton is doing a good job. He doesn’t deserve to be maligned by Clinton-haters in your newsroom.
