Tribune staffer Bonnie Miller Rubin writes of a “blizzard of biblical proportions” (Page 1, Feb. 18).

The Bible contains accounts of plagues, windstorms, storms at sea, earthquakes and, of course, the Great Flood–hence “flood of biblical proportions.” But try as I might, I can’t find mention of a blizzard. Or even a major snowstorm.

Could this be called a flaky metaphor?
