Apple Computer Inc. agreed to offer PowerPC Upgrade Kits at less than half price to those who bought one of three of the company’s Performa computers. The agreement is part of a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission, which accused Apple of misrepresenting the availability of the upgrades to consumers when they purchased the machines.
