A friend of mine recently asked why we need to keep bringing up the Holocaust more than 50 years after the fact–that perhaps we might be “overdoing it” by the production of movies such as “Schindler’s List” or the building of the Holocaust Museum.
If I may defer to a recent Associated Press report from Springfield: “Obscene words and symbols including swastikas were spray-painted on President Lincoln’s tomb, authorities said” (not to mention the excrement found on the observation deck).
I rest my case.
