In the latest flareup over partial-birth abortions, I find it fascinating that abortion-rights advocates have chosen the strategy of the National Rifle Association.
The pro-abortion crowd explains that we cannot allow any type of abortion to be banned, as that would only pave the way for a complete abolishment of the practice. This is the same argument that the NRA has used against gun-control laws for years. What is most interesting is that the establishment seems to agree with the abortion-rights position, whereas the same establishment scoffed at the NRA for advancing this same “foolish” notion about guns.
Ah, the joys of hypocrisy and political correctness.
