Chicago Women Connecting, a project of the Center for Research on Woman and Gender at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will honor WGN-Ch. 9’s Merri Dee at a gala during Women’s History Month.
Pianist Ramsey Lewis is scheduled to perform at the event. Proceeds will benefit the launch of the project’s first community-based organization that will serve female survivors of violence and abuse.
