Clarence Page correctly points to the import of verifying information on the Internet (“A computer cult’s tragic `religion,’ ” Op-Ed, March 30).

In fact, the April issue of Internet World discusses how misinformation spreads and the need to become “infocritical”: i.e., taking the time to verify or test the accuracy of information before accepting it or sharing it.

But is Mr. Page stretching his point by labeling Heaven’s Gate a “computer cult” and linking its negative drive to the Internet?
